GYM Deluxe: Mechanical Melee

A young woman wearing a pair of headphones wanders down the city streets, walking her way through a rundown old part of Tokyo while bobbing her head slightly with a grin.
"Hmm, some kinda place where people always end up fighting... Geez, hard to imagine this being for real given it's on public net but whatever."
She walks up to the sole well kept building in this shoddy looking place, letters above it reading GYM. She'd kick open the door with surprising strength for a woman who stands at 5'5. Though nothing supernatural looking if anyone observed.
"Guess there's nothing to but wait for now though, nobody else around so lets just see how long that takes to change."
She'd absently walk up to a simple training dummy in one of the rooms corners, warming up by unleashing a fairly impressive but mundane series of blows upon it off and on.
Eyes darting around the room that's got a currently unmanned drink bar, though one without any alcohol by the looks. An arena of some kind that's got a strange set of runes engraved around it, and a fancy looking computer that seems to be some sort of VR tech judging on the screen.
The wandering prophet, having come down from his latest adventure, enters the empty doorway, surprising as it was automatic, but at this point was there really any surprise to be had in things? Needless to say he paid it no mind. Today he was relaxing as much as it could be believed by entering a building known for its combat implications.
"Oho, an occupant? One who seems competent no less! Assumptions do no good, yes... but one must always see the potential in others, lest bitter defeat caused by overconfidence be their fate!"
Something unusual would enter the building after the girl. It was what seemed to be a humanoid mass of armor, the person's entire body covered in metal plating. Most would think that perhaps some bypasses on the street would show a little surprise at such a display and yet it was almost as if they couldn't even see the armored individual as they walked in.
"...Time to keep my side of the bargain...I'm told to fight so I must fight...
Fight me...It's all I know..."
The being would pull a large spear from their back and point it at Akia without warning. Despite their clear hostility they seemed intent on not making a first move as if upholding some long since forgotten code of conduct.
The woman stares towards this strange armored man. Is that a [Stand] he's wearing? It could be, but she isn't going to assume anything in this strange place. Might be a different power entirely.
"Fight you huh... Yeah I did come here to fight, but I'm not looking for a battle to the death at the moment."
She glances over towards Woz for a moment as well, perhaps he could help out with something... Akia begins walking towards the computer with a smirk. With only a moment's warning, he'd find a visor tossed towards him.
"Oi armor man, I got an idea. Put that on, and I'm gonna muck with some settings. This little VR set up here is neat, can simulate all kinds of stuff from the looks of it. So we should be able to fight in here without issues."
She'd type in several things on the keyboard of the machine. And if her foe had put on the visor he would find himself standing within a cityscape, an image of Tokyo itself actually standing outside the shibuya scramble.
Absent of people. Soon enough the woman would join as well. She cracks her knuckles as her arms seem to form into a pair of shiny metal limbs with claws on their ends. There's also a brief flash of some kind of energy around her if he's the type to see things most can't.
"I guess you want me to make the first move then, huh? I'd rather not though, so feel free to open up."
Her eyes give him a calculating stare from across the field, hands held up in a defensive motion, but she hasn't moved to attack yet.
The armored being would catch the visor and simply stare at it? it was hard to tell given their large helmet. They'd attempt to put it on over their mask in an awkward way as if they couldn't distinguish between their face and their armor.
Their body however, would suddenly disappear completely, leaving the visor to fall on the ground. If Akia entered they'd find that the armored man would appear in the virtual world anyway, as if he had simply walked into it on his own rather than simply created a simulation.
"I see...their is no need for your machines. I have no fear of something like death either. My contract must be fulfilled..."
They wouldn't say another word as they saw Akia put up her guard. The being knew what such a stance meant. They'd raise their weapon once more before stepping forward one foot at a time. Their approach seemed slow as each step seemed to shake the ground with the sheer weight of the armor.
They'd take their fourth step and then suddenly their movements changed. They now moved forward at an astonishing speed. Their feet were no longer touching the ground as they simply glided towards Akia, their weapon pointed towards not the center of their body but at their right shoulder.
The woman's eyes narrow slightly, this much speed... She can't react to it in time, what a pain. Having to bring out her [I Am Machine] right off the bat is so annoying.
In an instant the aura around her flares to life in full, glowing electronic blue light flowing out of her body as a woman with two metallic arms that look very much like Akia's new ones appears, a tall androgynous dressed figure in a black bodysuit with glowing lines over and wearing a high tech visor.
The user leaps off to the side, her Stand rushes forward with truly amazing speed. Left arm rushing forward to try and grab onto the enemy's spear, this would expose her to some damage of course. But her enhancements are made for that, and if she were able to stop it the foe would find himself being beset upon by the Stand's right hand lashing forward with its razor sharp claws.
"Gimme a break man, an attack like that right off the bat... I was planning to keep her hidden for a while and suss things out some more, but it seems like I've got no choice other than getting kinda serious from the start."
The woman would rush forward with those words, she can't be too far from her Stand so there's no choice but to maintain close range for now. Meaning that her own cybernetic hands lash out with inhuman strength that's aimed for the man's left flank while her Stand charges head on.
The spear may be able to be stopped for a moment, long enough to get a single hit on the being but just as quickly as it stopped a sudden burst of force would cause it to push forward.
The armored being would also be sent flying backwards until they made contact with the ground once more. The strike from the stand would leave holes in its left side but another strange phenomenon began to occur. The metal that made up the armor seemed to begin moving around where it had been torn up. It would begin to stretch and contort to cover the holes up until they were closed completely.
"I...forward...is the only way I know...Even without my contract..."
The woman mutters a curse under her breath, a self repairing Stand then? Automatic type perhaps. Her Stand is struck dead on, chest shifting into a tough metallic form mere moments before the spear can come into contact. Even with that defense up, both fighters are still pushed backward a few meters by the impact.
"I see, well you're pretty good at going forward... You didn't seem to shocked by my little trick, so I'm guessing you're a [Stand User] as well."
Could use guns, she did place some in that new chest but... That repairing is a pain to cope with. There must be some trick to it, and if Akia can figure that out then winning this fight becomes far easier.
"As usual in these fights, it comes down to who can use their head more than who can throw a better punch eh? But I'm woefully straightforward."
Her left leg shifts at that point, thin and barely viable cables slowly creeping out from the Stand's transformed leg. Even as it rushes forward to try and keep up the pressure, its true aim is spreading about the cables while the user watches for a moment.
The spear may have been stopped once again by the metallic form but it would still not stop. It would start up once more, grinding against the metal as much as it needed to with an unnatural force behind it. It it was worn down it would simply begin shifting itself back into shape just as the armor had as well.
The armored man however, would not be reached by Akia's stand. His body would sink into the ground, almost seeming to grow transparent in nature until the figure simply became one with the dirt.
Stopping it entirely wasn't the goal, not really. I Am Machine is sent flying backward, but the cybernetics haven't even got any sense of pain. That's the real point, despite Akia feeling a strong impact, she's only damaged, not hurt. As for removing it... Well that takes some effort, and depending on how long she may not even have the time to make another move after this. But rather than trying to go against its force, her Stand strikes the thing forward which hopefully makes it go rushing out through the back of her chest.
It does leave her stunned for a brief moment while her right leg replaces itself with yet more metal, leaving only the head appearing human for now.
"Great, phasing through solid matter. Not to mention, at this rate I'll have to try and make my own repairs soon... That makes this more annoying for me. Gotta be a trick that I can use, modify the right arm some..."
The works of her stated limb shift around, revealing what appears to be some sort of hose. What it sprays forth isn't really any substance exactly, but merely stand energy that's infused with the property of being flammable. It can't phase through the ground however, and she simply covers the area around about 15 meters hoping her foe will be forced to traverse it coming up.

The spear would slam down into the ground somewhere behind Akia after going through her chest. The armored figure would crawl up from the ground next to their weapon and grab onto it with a single hand. They'd looked over to where Akia was, making sure to get their attention before resuming the fight.
"Hey, take this more seriously...You may think death has no consequences but do you want to know what I truly am? It's not against my contract to tell you..."
Outside of the simulation, Woz would have donned his gilded armor before spectral screwdrivers moved toward the terminal. Upon contact, the entire reality within the machine would stop, reverting to a barren space of light blue squares stretching to eternity. Movement became unrestricted after this change, but notably the squares changed from light blue to neon green. Fading in from a beam of golden light stood Woz, armed with a staff and covered in mechanical implements. A focus on his mask would reveal the phrase "Kikai".
"I've been observing your fight, and much to my chagrin, the virtual aspect of this reality has been vastly neglected. Tokyo? Perhaps if you wished for a basic playing field, but given what I've seen of your abilities, a trial such as this deserves a befitting stage! It deserves something worth rejoicing over!"
Woz would slam his staff into the ground, the arms on his mask emitting a familiar glow. A spectral projection of the hands would fly behind him, materializing in a massive clock that was almost twice the size of him. The mechanical arms would turn until striking midnight, upon which time itself would stop. That isn't to say once it moved on the difference would be only where Woz stood, but instead that it seemed as if it was physically impossible to move. Woz would stroll about in this stalled time, examining the other two. He wouldn't interact with them, instead allowing projections of the screwdrivers to fly off into the eternal white before a black beam came down, striking into the digital grid.
"I can think of several more fitting locations, ones much more befitting of your powers. [Stands], correct? Well then, best not to let me keep you from going at it."
In a flash of gold, Woz was gone, but the black beam kept growing in intensity, and width. It came to the point where it completely enveloped the virtual world, replacing it with something... almost alien one might say. The turf turned crimson, as did the sky. A tower rose in the distance, some sort of black hole atop it, swallowing whatever world they were on. Gravity seemed about half as intense as Earth's, even less the closer one moved to the tower, but the footing of the entire planet wasn't stable at all. It was crumbling apart, albeit in decently sized chunks. Once again, movement was restored.
Oh, it isn't that she just thinks death can't hurt her...
"Sure, sounds fine to me. But that won't kill me, not while I'm like this anyways..."
So she hopes, but it could be part of the Stand's power, if that were the case even her internal workings being insanely resistant save the brain might not help. She glances towards the figure to try and spot if it neared the liquid she had spread around, for now watching carefully.
... Upon seeing the change to the area she mutters a slight curse, not that this place isn't cool. But the vanishing stage does mess up her idea. For the moment her goal becomes simply moving to somewhat solid ground while preparing to defense herself against an incoming attack, the tiny barely viewable metal wire still moving as well.
"Well, I'll admit this place is cooler you've got style on that front man. Keeps it exciting at least."
The armored man's body wouldn't even seem to be affected in the slightest by the gravity. They simply pulled their weapon from the ground and then began to float slightly before taking their other hand and lifting the visor on their helmet.
Within was...nothing but an oddly ghostly vapor within. Akia would get the feeling that she was being watched by whatever was within but it wouldn't be wholly visible whatever it was. The armored figure would close the visor before the ghostly vapor leaked out.
They'd simply look towards the girl and ready their weapon.
"...I have already departed from the world of the living...I am only here now to repay a favor...Both in life and in death I have always followed another. That is the warrior's path though...
However, should you be killed by me even in this false world your soul will end up being pulled from your body and you shall roam the land as a spirit just as I have..."
Become a ghost bound to roam the land... Fucking great, this is how typical Stand battles go isn't it? Even a damn training match has to become life or death. She can always eject from the program of course, assuming whoever that hacker is doesn't stop her.
"I see then, well I don't plan to die here anyway... Guess I'd better take you down then Mr. Ghost."
This guy... Does he have a stand which claims souls, or is he part of a stand which claims souls? Given the fact he doesn't seem to feel all that strongly about things, and already said he's dead.
Maybe if the answer to that question were more apparent this would be easier to figure out, but for now there's only one thing to do. Her Stand's right arm blasts forth the combustible stand energy, liquid easily flying far further than it normally would thanks to the lowered gravity.
With that, the start of the trail would suddenly be dashed into by the wire that's been controlled up to now. Sparks rushing out of it and setting the spray into a burning roar that rushes straight for her foe and spreads across the ground as I Am Machine keeps adding more fuel.
"Kind of annoying though, bringing something like that to a simple training match. Guess I should expect it however, stand users beget stand users...
The armored figure wouldn't even flinch at the sight of the flames as they approached. Instead he'd simply take up his spear once more and with what swift motion throw the weapon straight forward.
The spear would seem to lock onto it's target, this time aiming for Akia's leg. If the spear past through the flames then it would ignite with its own ghostly blue flames. Burning with an oddly cold flames and launching forward with a remarkable amount of force.
The armored figure however would let the flames hit them. They're body would seem to begin to start glowing red from the heat and becoming softer in places. The metal itself would continuously try to preserve its form but it was clear that doing so was a constant struggle for it.
(edited by Koji-Reiko)
Akia's eyes light up with an electronic glow, easily seeing through flames and spotting the cold burning spear via heat-vision. Her foe would find the Stand's wire trying to grab on with inhuman speed, hidden within the gout of raging fire. It would easily grab onto its target, unless it had some power to phase through a Stand, which she's not ruling out.
If grabbing onto the weapon worked as she hopes then it would be dragged over towards her Stand. If that tricked failed however, she'd be forced to try and evade, the Stand quickly merging into her body before sending them both absurdly high into the air as their left arm changes form again, some effort to evade the locked on weapon's attack.
The wires would in fact be able to grab hold of the spear but they wouldn't be able to control its movement. It would continue pulling at them with a powerful force as it tried to reach its target with what seemed to be endless momentum. It was likely that the wires would only be able to hold it for a couple more seconds at best.
The armored figure would attempt to move closer but would find that his melting armor would seem to hinder his movements, making floating much more of a hassle. They'd default to landing on the ground and simply stepping forward, closer to their spear.
She'll take what she can get, and raises the Stand's left arm up even while it keeps on melting down his armor. One second, and it's fired off with a massive blast from the arm.
A stand energy based railgun, firing with truly absurd power and speed towards her foe's chest and head with a massive spray of energy. The recoil of such a weapon sends her Stand moving backwards though, even while digging into the ground with the inhuman might of their metal legs. Naturally that forces the woman herself to move back, and the flames will only last for a few more seconds as her enemy's spear breaks free from the cables.
"No telling how much good that'll do, but I can hope to do something it doesn't recover from too quickly..."
The armored figure would remain in place as it was shot at. At first the shot appeared to do little more than blow a hole in it's armor around where its neck was.
"...Impressive to fire off such a viscious attack but against my armor it will do little more than-"
Suddenly, the spaces around its necks began to collapse as the flames finally began to melt away at its body, outpacing its regenerative ability.
At the same time the spear as well would break free from its chains but with the armored ghost's focus lost to it the spear would seem to fly towards Akia blindly, ending up aiming for her own head. It would, however, stop before inflicting any damage to her. Simple pausing midair before hitting her head as if by command.
The spear would visibly shake as if it was unsure as to why it sopped as well.
From the whole that was created from the armored ghost's helmet falling off the spirit like substance within would begin to leak out, releasing its soul into the air above it.
"...I see, it seems you have bested me...I must apologize, I wasn't completely honest with you before...
In truth, as part of my commands I was disallowed from killing you...
That is why my spear as well could only be aimed properly at parts of your body that weren't considered lethal blows unless you yourself forced it to do otherwise...
It seems that dying in battle has also enabled me to finally move on but first....I must complete the final part of my contract. Since you have beaten me I shall pass this message on...If you want to know more about the power you posses go to the cemetery...That is all..."
With that the spirit would simply fade away, leaving the virtual world and floating into the sky in the real world until it vanished all together in a cloud of yellow smoke.
She stares at the long dead soul... Couldn't kill her huh, what a funny thing to consider.
"I see then, just wanted me to go all out huh? I can respect that Mr. Ghost, woulda liked to hear your name at least before this but so long."
She'd chuckle upon hearing that last part. It sounds amazingly suspect, but how much does she really know about these things? They pop up sometimes when you walk through a weird and amazingly deadly bit of land over in America. They're called Stands, and their masters seem to draw each other.
That's about the sum of it... So even though this is blatently and obviously a trap of some kind, she can't help finding herself curious about what they might know.
As the VR breaks away and she once again stands in front of the GYM. She'd look to the man in black.
"You could see them I assume, so. That last bit, couldn't kill me. I wonder if that'll be true if I decided to go over to the local graveyard or not? Guess I'm gonna find out, feel free to tag along if you want, Mr...?"
If he decided to introduce himself, she'd quickly do the same before starting to head out. Pondering this little encounter within her head while the cybernetic limbs return to normal save for her eyes, and of course her Stand vanishes.
"Geez, going to meet a puppetmaster in a cemetery. Creepy even if they don't want me dead, and I can't be entirely sure they don't either... Still, I wanna find out more. Curse you curiosity."
With that, she's long gone from the building and off into the afternoon light.
