Let's say - how would this work in getting Personas through negotiation? And if both were main protagonists (like P3P, but--), how would they be able to exist in the same world? And how would their stats differentiate?
This is the stuff that keeps me up at night...
What are your thoughts on these?
Also, I'm going on the perspective of this being a new game, not as Persona 5 Royal.
There’s actually nothing against having multiple wildcards around in Persona lore, in fact in the first two games everyone acted like one in-game. It wasn’t until 3 added a major player character that they used it as a method to differentiate.
So It’d likely work just like any other party member, unlocking fusions as you go and everything, except they’d be better for the same reason Persona MCs are better than every other party member
Yeah, from P3 onwards they made the concept of wild cards a bit confusing by acting as if they were strange, unique and destined for greatness or whatever. Especially with the PQ games being like "Multiple Wildcards are in one place. That means some wacky stuff is happening like sub personas. Wooooo."
Then you have Persona 1 and 2 where everyone could use multiple personas because of course they could. You can't even use the whole "The second Persona 2 is in a new world so only certain people can be wildcards" excuse because the party members there could use multiple personas as well.
In conclusion, Atlas made wildcards weird.
Also, in terms of negotiation, in Persona 2 the party shared the persona catalogue. Anyone could use any persona, including ones others came with initially (In terms of P5, it would be like Ryuji using Carmen or Ann using Zoro. Stuff like that.) I imagine it would be similar to that. Stats were tied to the person not the persona as well I'm pretty sure.

That makes a tonna sense. In the terms of what my mind of how it'll work as a Confidant/Social Link (aka Shared Heart - sharing the hearts of the Personas of both you & the team member), the only problem is how the Velvet Room would work. Would you be able to choose the other persons Personas and set them?
There's another thing I'd like to mention - the Wildcard wasn't actually "legalized" until the third installment. So the wildcard wasn't a thing in the first two games, since it was just anyone with the potential.
In the first persona games, the Velvet room was... a room. That everyone could enter. Whenever they wanted. It's just that simple.
Also, yes. By inventing the term wildcard, they made it wierd.
Okay, so if you haven't seen my Pair Skills discussion, https://phansite.net/forum/topic.php?topic=17044 , how would those work? I'd like to hear it on that post tyvm-- on your thoughts.
