Faba Magi Capulus Magicus: A Long Overdue Meeting

OOC: In truth, this particular thread is really between two specific characters, I can't stop others from showing up of course. But there's not much that most would be interested or invested in going on here. Madoka stands outside the cafe, absently leaning against its wall and staring out towards the street while she closes her phone and stows it away inside of the gleaming mystic bottle Homura had lent to her. By this hour, the building and most everything around it are closed as stars twinkle above in the night sky while she awaits Sonomi's reply or arrival after having sent the girl a simple text message. "Jeez... This is gonna be a hell of a talk, though maybe with some luck I can actually get through to her about some things. Or at the least convince her to stop flirting with a fate worse than death." Becoming a Witch, Madoka can't say she knows what that's like exactly. But judging by everything she's ever seen of them she can't help but think it's a horrible thing indeed. That killing them is the only right answer even if Sonomi is correct about 'taming' is possible. Keeping a tortured mockery of everything a girl once loved around like some kind of pet is horrific beyond belief. "But what can I say to make her understand that? That's always the question isn't it, and maybe I'm the one who needs to understand some things in part too. Wouldn't be right to just go into this totally sure of my righteousness..." She's pretty sure about the Witches, almost no doubt there. But perhaps Sonomi isn't just talking nonsense about Suzuki, she won't try to deny that she feels awful over it anyway. Even so, what's done is done, and unless Homura suddenly becomes a magical girl again redoing it just isn't an option. "Heh, even if she's right about that being senseless so what. It isn't like we enjoy ending lives or something." With a shake of her head the pink-haired girl would go silent, absently pondering the multitude of choices before her while awaiting her friend's arrival.
Jessica, literally just walking around in boredom, spots a pink haired girl with a rather unusual aura of power about her, approaches her in her "normal" form, i.e. not her original form/her human spirit form: "Hello? What's you're name? And what are you doing here?"she says rather calmly and joyfully, though she pretty nervous about what could happen, so she keeps her guard up.
{Without saying a word, Sonomi stares blankly at her phone before leaving the apartment where Asena is still having fun with herself. She takes a deep sigh during her trip, making sure not to be stopped by her own self. The night is in the air, though it isn't one where she feels relaxed at all. Despite going to her own friend, doubt still crawls in the back of her mind.} "I'm here, Madoka-Chan! It's nice to see you again, really took my time to get some stuff off my mind, you know?" {She gives Madoka an uncharacteristically warm smile in hopes she can counteract the stress that plagues her head. One that tries to forget the very subject that her friend had most likely wanted to bring up. The girl would shift her eyes all around Madoka, the closed building, the night sky, the bottle. The persona...} "Anyways, what is it that you wanted to talk with me about? I've always had wanted to meet like this again." {Sonomi starts off with a friendly quote for her friendly friend, preparing for the worst. The girl musters up her old attitude, obviously expecting things to go unfriendly, whether it was through her own doing or Madoka's. The smile persists for her friend. The friend that gave her mentor an early send off.}

The young woman would glance over at Sonomi with a slight smile on her own face... Jeez, what an awkward talk to be having. Not to mention frightening, destroying their friendship is the least of her worries here. More of a concern is causing the younger girl to turn into a dammed Witch. "Hey Sonomi! So, I kinda wanted to talk about what happened you know... Not too long ago. Homura said we'd talk about it sometime later and here we are. Before I say anything myself, did you have any questions?" It's an open offer for the magical girl to get anything she has burning a whole in her chest out of the way. She's not trying to steer this conversation into some direction or anything, and the intent really is to be honest with her friend so it seems better to let them lead off with their queries. "I can't promise you'll like all the answers I have to give, but I'll be honest with you. For whatever it's worth."
{Sonomi would actually widen her eyes in surprise as she finds that she isn't immediately being chewed out. In response of Madoka asking for questions, the girl would find herself in a bit of disarray. She's embarrased, completely forgetting the talk being a serious one.} "Well, I didn't actually come here expecting to ask questions of my own. Erm, that's a bit surprising actually! Uh, let me think on it..." {She turns around, thinking to herself. Of all the questions that surge through her mind, all of them seem to be stupid ones that can be answered quickly. But even so, there's one that might get the conversation to go somewhere. Sonomi would sigh out, waiting for the embarrasment to settle itself before she turned back to her friend and gave her another smile.} "Ok, I have two in mind! Let's see: first off, do you know about this fictional series named Danganronpa? It went on for 53 seasons. I've been following it for a long time, and it made a big impact on my life, starting from I think...the 3rd one? The main premise was about teenagers in court to point out the murderers that lurk among them basically. It's why I wanted to be good at speaking socially, to be able to speak up in hard times like those. Before then I never even thought about surviving through physical means like we have to now." {The girl would quickly take on a somber mood, immediately changing her mannerisms to fit the mood in hopes that this embarrassing way to lead into her actual question would be a good way to comprehend both her feelings and the situation at hand.} "It's also where I saw my older sister for the first time. The first and second seasons were ones I only saw recently...they looked too real just to be a fictional show...but it taught me about hope. About how...hope and despair bring change for the better, whether you accept it or push it away. Even so, Season 1 was why I started to think more about despair being just some pointless negative in life instead of a necessary force for creating an equilibrium like before. But, Madoka-Chan...what do you even think about hope and despair?"

The girl would pause for a moment, taking in all Sonomi's words and crossing her arms under her chest before speaking out in a calm voice despite her surprise at the question. She'd expected something about Suzuki, or about Homura, this is... Completely outside anything the pinkete had planned for really. "Hope and despair huh? That's an interesting question to start with Sonomi, gimme a moment to ponder it..." She would go silent for several moments, obviously pondering things hard as she closes her eyes and taps against the wall with her right hand. After a bit though, she'd speak up again in a calm tone while staring into her friend's eyes. "I think there's a lot more to things than just hope and despair, Kyubey would tell you that 'for every bit of happiness you wish for someone, someone else is cursed with equal misery.' but me?" Madoka chuckles a bit before speaking more, smiling slightly. "I don't think that's true at all, the world can get better and it can get worse, and nothing balances that out by itself for ill or good. Hope is useful, it drives us forward and pushes us to keep going even when things seem their most bleak, despair is pretty useless really. Sorrow, sadness, those have their uses and good points. But despair's just a black pit that drags you down and drowns you Sonomi. There's no better metaphor for despair at its very peak than what happens when that gem of yours goes all black..." She'd sigh a bit before going on, catching her breath slightly and thinking it through a bit more. "In the end though, I think letting hope be your only drive can end up just as horrible as falling into despair. Hope's fragile, over the years since I've come here I've come to realize that for me at least something other than just hope is needed. If only to stay sane. In summary, there are a lot of other feelings in the world and they're plenty important, screw despair, and hope's pretty cool even if it can't be a person's sole motivation." She'd glance over Sonomi curiously at that point, pausing and giving the magical girl a chance to respond... And trying to get a look at her soul gem to see if she can figure out how it's looking right now.
{The soul gem would be much better than it was last time, only having traces of impurities rather than almost a sea of them. Whether it was by the sheer amount of times it was used before or by some irresponsible times used recently is only known by the one that the soul gem belongs to. Sonomi looks to the side, brushing her bangs away as she frowned slightly at what seemed to be Kyubey's quote.} "Heh, yeah, I agree with that. I tried letting hope carry my other drives, but it's clear that the other motivations are important as well. I'll do my best to have more than one desire that pushes me forward at least. And I really do wish this could be where the conversation ends but I doubt that, so that means I guess I really have to point out some elephants in the room..." {Sonomi took a deep breath and held back on looking sentimental. She took on a bit of a happier tone as she tries her best not to start the pity party. What good is a conversation if it only exists for self-deprecation, something Madoka surely doesn't want out of Sonomi.} "I hated all those assumptions that Lucky Streak had stated back then, but back then she was right to think that way if those were her first impressions of me. I always want to be smarter than I let on, but then my emotions take ahold of me and then I end up being dumber than I let on. I don't think I really know of a way to try and make it up to her other than do better next time..."

The girl would smile slightly, this is... Going better than she had expected in all honesty, Sonomi's seemingly showing some self-awareness and it hasn't become violence at the moment. She'd speak up while nodding a bit. "Mmm, I'm glad you've gotten that a bit then... I don't want to see you crumble just from losing one thing or something Sonomi. That tends to be a risk when you've only got one motivation honestly, especially dangerous for magical girls of course." A magical girl who wallows in despair isn't just gonna feel bad for a while, she's done for in short order after all. And then there's the points Lucky Streak had made, Madoka just sighs before speaking up again after hearing that bit mentioned. "As for her points... I won't lie to you and say she didn't seem to have any clue at all there Sonomi, that'd be a disservice to you in truth. It was kinda selfish to not even let us try and help, among other things. But the first step to fixing a problem is realizing you have a problem. Nobody's ever recovered from something while stuborrnly insisting nothing is wrong at all and just ignoring it you know!" She'd then pause, slightly akwardly rubbing the back of her neck and grimacing while speaking in a quieter less cheery tone. "... And I suppose I owe you an apology too about something, not that words can really make up for what happened. I can tell you our actual side of the story if you want, though it's probably a bit hard to just trust me, understandably so." It isn't like Sonomi was there to see Suzuki trying to kill them either time, wasn't there to see the girl ranting like a lunatic. And in hindsight Madoka can't help wondering if maybe there had been a better way, the rush of battle and adrenaline was blinding at the time but now... Doesn't matter, she's gotta say that. Learn from mistakes, and keep moving.
“It’s nice to know that much for sure. In fact, I kind of think that it was a miracle I didn’t turn then and there, if the rambling back there was any sign. I guess I can just hope that it won’t happen again...” {She tried to wave her hand to make a reassuring gesture. Thinking back on the old times of going through breakdowns is very exhausting, both when trying to live in the moment as well as thinking back on it.} “I actually have a new caretaker right now, it’s hard to solve the problems but it’s nice to have someone to talk to them with. Turns out just having 1 other person is not as good as having 3.” {Sonomi would take a breath in before smiling at Madoka, giving her full permission to explain something that she felt was wrong. Because there might’ve been a good reason for it in the moment. Or just because it seemed like the same and less risky thing to do.} “And don’t worry, it’s fine! While I might disagree with it, I don’t mind listening to the other side of the story. It’s not good to form an opinion solely based off a bias and a misunderstanding. Can’t die on a hill for something that you never had any business in after all.”

The young woman would smile, actually looking very relieved to actually be given a chance to speak about it some. And of course glad to hear that things seem to be going a bit better as well. "Heh, yeah I can relate to that. I was just trying to rely on Homura at first when I showed up here honestly, she means a lot to me, probably always will after all we've been through at this point... But we do need more than just each other, even she's got her cafe and its employes after all." With a pause and sigh, she'd begin getting to that other topic. Only a hint of trepidation in her voice while moving on. "As for what happened... I'm not gonna try and tell you it was the best possible solution, it never is really. But at the time the thing to understand is in our last meeting with her we almost got ourselves killed by Suzuki for as far we could tell, no reason at all. Not to mention the fact she shurgged off everything we did in that first encounter too. And even after digging into her past we really couldn't figure out why she even attacked us the first time, so Homura and I went in expecting the very worst." A hand goes up to her forehead, rubbing at it and pausing to take a breath as sweat pours down her face and her eyes water up a bit. "In hindsight I see all kinds of flaws in the logic of her ranting, all sorts of things I could have aruged against... But right then and there, all I saw was someone who nearly killed me and my girlfriend, trying to do that yet again and not doing a bad job in the attempt too. So we hit hard, we hit fast, and we didn't stop till we heard the gem shattering against the floor. We were both fucking terrified throughout that entire fight, and honestly I'm still having nightmares about it going just a bit more wrong. Does it make it okay? Not at all, but I'd like to think it's... A bit more understandable when you realize how close we came to dying once, fear of death, the thought of losing someone you love, and adrenaline is one heck of a mix..." With that said and done the young woman would simply pause and lean back against the wall and slump over a bit, absently looking up towards Sonomi as she slides down slightly.
“That’s a bit shocking to say the least...” {She looks off to the side as Madoka goes and leans on the wall once more. While Sonomi’s mind was wrapped around her stating the alternatives that could have been made. Something that would’ve happened in some other future that isn’t this one. She gets reminded of her caretaker in this regard, which leads to Sonomi letting out a sigh. She wraps her arms around her as she looked a bit nervously at Madoka with a slightly quivering smile that doesn’t match at all with her tone.} “It’s perfectly fine. Despite not nearly having as much battle experience as you nor having encounters to that degree, I still get what you’re trying to point out here.” {She shakes her head once, taking a breather and trying to rethink her words. To Madoka, the words Sonomi would deliver are in a slightly happy tone. Yet the smile stopping and the pauses made as she thinks back on the correct phrasing takes place of immediate forgiveness.} “Even if the positives were present, it’s ok that you thought this outcome was for the best. There won’t be an “even so” for what has already been done...” {Though Sonoma felt slightly better about that one, she still thinks her feelings aren’t satisfied. She shakes her head once again and makes another pause, sighing out. After a bit of silence, she tilted her head and smiled at the girl with her eyes closed.} “Despite not everyone making it, I’m at least glad that you two were the ones that came out alive in the exchange. I felt like I could’ve wanted to know about Suzuki-Sensei more, but I couldn’t bear to not have you and Homura-San ever again. So...thank you, Madoka-Chan.”

Madoka stands up a bit and accepts the hug, sighing slightly herself as she takes the words in and speaks up in a quiet voice... "It's... I get it, and if you're mad at us still that's completely fine. I'd understand even if you don't ever really forgive us, honestly. But thank you Sonomi..." She takes a moment to consider her next words more carefully, absently wondering if anyone else would be out here at this hour. Hopefully not, she doesn't really want people overhearing this mess of a conversation. "Hah, look at this. I came out here to try and explain things to you, and here I am being comforted as much as doing that. Kinda sad when you think about it but eh, I'm really glad we had this talk. And if you ever need anything from us you know Homura and I are both happy to help..." She'd pause and then sigh a bit heavily, right there was one more topic that needed to come up, wasn't there. "Oh and... Before I forget, have you been going out and getting grief seeds?" That elephant in the room, the thing that if she keeps refusing to do it will unavoidably lead to a horrible fate.
Risako felt a little bad about sneaking out this late, but it was part of her job as a Magical Girl, so she tried to ignore the concern. The girl takes a deep breath as she heads through the streets, searching for.. Something. Soon the girl sees two familiar faces... Her fellow student under Suzuki, and one more she seemed to faintly remember. They seemed to be talking, but Risako wasn't sure about what. So the girl does her best to hide in the mostly empty street to eavesdrop on their conversation.
"Don't worry about it. It's what friends do. I'm always happy to help you whenever you're there to help me." {Sonomi would try not to let go in the hug, but it felt kind of hard to when she gets reminded of the lack of grief seeds in her inventory. She steps back, scratching the back of her head and giving her a bit of an irked smile.} "Ah, have to hit me where it hurts, huh? I feel sad about having to say no, but that's the truth. Ever since that one witch back then I kind of forgot all about those. Though I haven't been using my powers that much, if that helps at all." {The girl would be a bit silent afterwards, thinking to herself. When she had her "plan" ready, her eyes would slightly light up and she raised a finger in the air, as if a lightbulb went off in her pretty empty head.} "Hey, I know. What about if I try to explain it in the best possible light just so we have nothing to hide from each other, like how you talked about Suzuki-Senpai's death? An eye for an eye, as they say. Unless you feel like it's too personal in the middle of the night through some means of spies creeping in the dark? Well...if that were the case, I'd have to instantly go back on what I just said and use my powers~" {She almost felt like laughing at her joke, but maybe it's better to not try and brighten the room just yet. Sonomi would sigh out as her frown went upside down, and she spoke in a more apprehensive light.} "I'm joking, really...I just want to get it off my chest. It felt hard to believe at first but I want to see how plausible it can really be to someone that's never experienced it...I understand if you'd disagree when you hear it though..."

The young woman would sigh slightly, not hunting still huh... That isn't good, she'd grimace a bit at the thought of what could happen if Sonomi keeps this up. But there's not much to do for it right now, well besides the obvious. "That sounds fine, yeah. Kinda getting tired of standing around out here though, come on let's go inside. I can make some coffee or something if you want. I didn't expect it to take so long at first but here we are, and I'm sure Homura won't mind any." Madoka simply reaches into her pockets and pulls out a set of keys, absently turning them slightly and waiting for Sonomi to enter the closed building alongside her, she'd also have to muck about with turning off a few security things after entering. And finally locking the door again for the moment. She also wouldn't even bother turning on the lights, just absently forming a glow as her persona's magic bursts to life and gives them enough to see by. "Alright, now you can start. And I can get working on it if you actually want anything to drink, I'm not as good as someone who makes this stuff all day but I can manage." She'd simply pause at that point, looking around the empty a building a bit while leaning against the door to the kitchen and waiting for Sonomi's reply.
Drat! The pair's sudden disappearance into the building complicates things. Risako obviously can't break in without getting noticed, but she can't just ignore this either. A suspicious meeting in the middle of the night suddenly switching to somewhere more "private"? Its just like all those spy movies she's seen. And just like those movies, Risako had an idea. The girl briefly scans the building's exterior, looking for the ventilation system. It was something every building she'd seen so far had, so it seemed likely this one would too. Risako was small, so there was a good chance the girl would be able to sneak in through there.
{Sonomi was surprised once more as her joke kind of lands, but not in the way that was comical. Rather something that seemed to be taken seriously. She stood outside for only a few seconds hesitating before stepping in, nodding to her friend. She immediately takes a seat that was placed in the middle of the room.} “That’s nice of you. I guess I shouldn’t question it. Yes, let’s go inside for now. Having coffee would be nice as well, but I can understand if you’d want to throw it in the sink after what I’m about to tell. I wouldn’t mind either way though, a surprise is a surprise.” {The girl would sit down, breathing in and out as nothing comes out. She puts herself deep in her thoughts, thinking about what to begin with. Silence fills the air before she sighs, now speaking in a tone that’s mostly unemotional, but most of her eye contact was spent looking to the side, at the window.} “When Suzuki-Senpai had separated me from you two, I was placed...somewhere. I don’t actually know where, but it looked like a school that somebody went. From there, I was met with someone. It was hard to tell what they were. They had feelings and they didn’t want to hurt anyone. They were just lonely. Risako-Chan was with me as I was talking with it. She dismissed it entirely as another familiar, but I don’t really think that’s the case. Suzuki-Senpai really tried to feed me to it. It didn’t want me to leave. Even so, it wasn’t to devour me, just to keep me there. It might’ve been something else entirely. Not a witch or a familiar. Rather what I thought could come even before a witch forms. A being of purity who only wants to be shown kindness. Of course, when I tried this same thing with a chameleon “witch” that had just been brought into this world, it didn’t act the same way. It was merely territorial, caring for it’s home and mostly nothing else. Trying to read it’s thoughts would only give me brain damage, they were so dark, too much for me to handle at the time. It didn’t hurt anybody either, but of course Risako-Chan said it shouldn’t be ignored anyway. I never hurt it, so it never hurt me. Whether it was because it thought of me as non-threatening, I would never know, but it only attacked Risako-Chan because she attacked first. I was never a target, even when I was alone. Even so, I thought I could deal with it the same way I did with what I met back at the school. But I couldn’t. That’s what really set me off. It’s why I should apologize for turning into that mental wreck back there. They weren’t really my best moments, were they?” {She closes her eyes, not really expecting anything but whatever was along the lines of “disappointment at best”. Or better yet, “angry at worst”. Either way her eyes stay shut, and she holds her breath in waiting for whatever might come to pass.}

Madoka would rub at her forehead a bit, still fixing coffee despite herself. Maybe it's just from habit, maybe it's the fact that she wants something to drink. But either way the young woman would speak up in a voice that sounds more... Worried than anything else, not bothered by the girl's actions but merely concerned on her behalf. Risako meanwhile is able to easily find the vents and begin listening in. "I... See. Give me a few minutes, I have to think about that some more..." It really is a few minutes before she replies again, having finished up with the coffee by now and absently gesturing to some cream and sugar she'd pulled out. Not that Madoka seems interested in those judging by the way she's drinking down rather hot black coffee before speaking up again. "I can understand not wanting to fight, I don't love it myself even if I'm always trying to get better. And yes, every Witch is different, some won't kill you just for existing near them, but all of them are tortured creatures who do horrible things somehow. Say that chameleon doesn't attack trespassers unless they attack it first, okay great. But does that mean you now know it never hunts people outside the barrier? That its familiars don't? Can you be sure it won't later merge with some other more active witch and create a bigger threat, because they can do that too. There's too many varibiles involved in letting something like that live, at best it's a ticking time bomb that isn't hurting people in that moment, at worst you just can't see how it harms yet." She'd pause a bit, absently feeling her way through the gleaming magical bottle that sits inside of her pockets... Before suddenly hearing a crashing sound. Riskao was indeed able to find the vents, and get partway into them. But as it turns out vent shafts aren't meant to support even a small human being like her for long, and so they give out just as the pink haired girl finishes. The pink-haired girl reacts in moments, a rune-covered bow rushing into her hands as magical energy charges within it and the weapon is quickly aimed outside, glowing holy magic shaped as arrows held at ready while more light bursts to life around her now summoned Persona. "Whoever you are, you can come out now! I'm not in the mood to deal with bad spywork tonight, or any spywork! You've already damaged our freaking ventilation which costs money to replace so please for the love of god, don't make this a fight, just come over where I can see you!" Now of course, there is anger in her face and voice as she shouts out to... Whoever is out there, Madoka doesn't know or care much right now. Arcs of lightning and holy power flow around her as she glares outward.
{She sat there, being a bit shocked at how much common sense one can have. To her, it was a bit unnerving her mind never had this lodged up in her thought process. Sonomi shook her head as she replied.} "I didn't really consider all that...at the time, when I was reading their thoughts, they all only wanted to protect it's home from the only one it thought of as an intruder, which was Risako. When trying to persuade the witch and it's familiars not to hurt anyone, I started to get my headaches when my efforts were washed away. At that point it might have made it's thoughts become more complex and...dark. I guess just assuming because me and Risako's friend Damon tried to calm the witch, we could make it so that it never attacks anyone else. Sadly, whatever happened afterwards is just a blank. It was mostly just some minor things, like the witch still not attacking me despite my morale being at an all time low. I only remember the breakdown. Maybe my mercy should just be compromised-" {Sonomi didn't let out a gasp, merely turning around to look at where the noise came from, which was from the ventilation shaft. While she sighed from being interrupted by some outside force, what she was truly shocked by was how much she never thought of this as a problem. Madoka summoning her persona and everything put her on edge, as if she was taking a glimpse into something...or rather, someone's side she would have seen were she not conversing peacefully.} "E-erm, if they were this bad at spywork then they're most likely not a threat, r-right?" {The girl stands up from her chair, trying to let out some form of a message but it comes out more as the prelude to a stammering mess. She looks outside, activating her powers just to read the thoughts of whoever was out there.}
“Agh!” Risako lets out a cry as the air vent collapses beneath her. Those movies made it seem so easy, so the girl wasn’t ready for things to go awry in the slightest “P... Please don’t hurt me!” The girl closes her eyes raises her hands in surrender, remaining motionless in anticipation of getting caught. It hadn’t even occurred to her that she could do anything about it, instead shaking in place as she awaits knowledge of her fate.
{Sonomi would shift her eyes to the left and the right once, reluctantly making her way over to her classmate. She immediately turns off her mind powers so that she can keep her own streak going.} "W-wait...Risako? Madoka, I know who she is, she's my classmate!...classmate?..." {At first, the girl was getting as nervous as the girl being threatened by someone with a persona out of nowhere. However, something else plagues her mind, causing her to think again. She states her thoughts with an absent mind.} "Erm, Risako, classmate is a bit awkward now. What are we supposed to call each other..."

The ex magical girl just sighs heavily, the flurry of her Persona dying down a bit as she stares over at Sonomi with an annoyed face. Now recalling exactly who the girl is. "... Why exactly did you think breaking into my girlfriend's cafe, and trying to spy on a private conversation with my friend was even remotely a good plan. Let alone okay somehow? You can calm down some though, I don't plan to hurt you or anything. I am gonna ask how you plan to pay for the repairs however!" Geez... Homura's gonna have to close down for a bit to deal with this, not to mention paying for the work being done, keeping people on staff despite being closed. Ugh, Madoka can't even imagine dealing with this kind of headache. And despite moving away from violence, the girl still seems rather angry at the moment.
"Um.. H.. Hi Sonomi." Risako feebly waves to her friend while still watching Madoka. The girl winces a little. This wasn't how she'd hoped the night would go. Risako had only seen Madoka a couple of times, but they seemed pretty scary. "I.. UM.. I just... Saw my friend meeting you this late at night and... Just.. Wanted to make sure.. N.. You were doing ok.. But I'm.. I mean.. I'm not very..." whatever follows after is little more than mumbling as Risako can barely even form a coherent sentence.
"Oh Risako, you have nothing to worry about! We're all doing fiiine." {That's still a lie, but oh well, Sonomi can only smile and wave back to her friend.} "It's nice of you to worry though! What made you have to stroll your way over here this late at night? Got caught up in some cave incident or something? I've heard those are the worst kinds so far..." {The girl says, joking even more in the situation. However it came off more as trailing away to her thoughts rather than a simple jest.} "Besides that, Madoka, it's alright. She's just a bit nervous is all. Would you like it if I paid repairs in her stead? I have the money after all."

The girl just sighs heavily, looking over at Sonomi's friend and rubbing her forehead before responding. "... You realize of course, that she's my friend too yes? I'm sorry about getting so worked up, but this place is kinda important to Homura and I." She'd just glance back to Sonomi after hearing that suggestion, that... Isn't really the point here, and Madoka's not going to be shy about making the point clear. "Thank you for the offer, but no Sonomi. It isn't just about the money, I'm more so annoyed by the breaking and entering and spying on us. You paying for it doesn't even begin to make up for that, because it isn't you who's done anything wrong." Once upon a time the girl could have easily been talked into just forgetting about it and shrugging this off, as is she's rather annoyed still even while calming down and looking back to Risako. "Why would you even be worried by this meeting anyway, did you think I was gonna try and hurt her or something? That'd be ridiculous."
"U.. Um.. No one.. I mean she never really talked about you... I just saw you one time and... I mean.. Suzuki..." Risako begins making excuses for her mistake, but none of them really meant anything after all. "I mean.. No one's supposed to be out this late anyways..."
{Sonomi would blush, looking away as she felt a bit embarassed that this situation seems not to be able to be downplayed.} "Oh, right. Sorry, I'll try to stay out of this, don't worry." {Before she tries to stay silent, she stepped forward to Risako, trying to let her feel comfortable despite probably being the one at fault.} "Though I will say Risako, it's fine to stay up a lil' bit sometimes! Plus, back then I felt a bit hesitant to merge my friend groups like that. Us being students and friends with Suzuki and all...after Madoka reprimands you, I'll apologize for my actions."

Madoka sighs heavily, eyes twitching while looking over at Risako and forming a reply that doesn't sound quite as agressive. She... Has mixed results there. "Look, what you do or don't know about me doesn't really matter. What does matter is pretty simple, this is private property that you've broken into... That's a crime, last I looked. And you don't strike me as the type who can leverage your magic well enough to go on the run." The girl would pause at that point, shaking her head and offering the younger girl a smile as she speaks up again. "I'm not about to try and get you arrested though, it's alright to be worried about your friend Risako but you should have just walked up and spoken with us to begin with. At the end of the day I'm not some mastermind trying to plot against you or anyone else, I'm just a person trying to do my best. And it's a lot better to simply interact in a reasonable conversation than play at being a spy. So we've gotten off on the wrong foot, but what did you want to know? Because I am in fact willing to try and explain things to you too if you'll hear me out, as long as you promise not to pull this kind of thing again." She'd conclude with offering a reassuring smile while looking over at the magical girl curiously. Honestly hoping to resolve this without any further pointless issues, there's no reason to be so paranoid of and angered by each other after all.
"P.. Please don't tell anyone. If father learned I was out this late I'd never be trusted again." Risako nervously adjusts her ring while looking around like a trapped animal. As if there were any way for her to escape. The girl avoids Madoka's gaze, and stutters out something of an answer "I.. I know.. I'm sorry. I just.. I mean.. Well... You were busy so..." and not wanting to interrupt them just made the situation so much worse. Again. In the end she could barely even talk to anyone, let alone be expected to lead. "I don't... I mean.. I didn't get to hear your conversation.. So.. I don't really have any questions.. Just.. Um.. I mean.. What were you..."
{Sonomi would stand idly by, on the ready to comfort her friend. But for now, she decides to glance away, ultimately letting the conversation persist as she feels more and more bad for her friend who is doing an amazing job at being super pathetic. Worst part is that it's not even on accident or an act.}

What were they... What? Madoka isn't a mind reader unlike Sonomi so she can't actually answer that question without being given more detail, the older girl would just sigh slightly and shake her head. Absently gesturing Risako towards a seat. "Right, do you want something to drink Riskao? Strange thing to ask of someone who just broke in and all but eh, I don't think you're a bad kid or anything just misguided. So I'm willing to let bygones be bygones in the end, might have to take your offer up though Sonomi." If anyone finding out is really that bad for Risako chances are she can't actually pay for it without getting attention too. So as much as she doesn't like letting someone else clean up the mess, Homura really will need help there. "And yes, we were busy. But it's okay to be worried about your friends, just... Try to avoid causing others trouble doing it, when you can. I'm not some super lethal criminal mastermind, despite what you may have been led to guess." She just leans back against the counter silently with that remark, eyes absently watching Risako.
Risako blinks for a moment, a look of relief crossing her face as she's finally done being interrogated. The girl nervously toys with her fingers as she answers. "C.. Chamomile. Chamomile tea helps calm my nerves." The girl finally adds. All the while avoiding Madoka's gaze. She hadn't done anything to deserve their kindness, yet found themselves making a request anyways just to avoid making the situation more awkward.
